Environmental Characterization Optics

 

 

The Environmental Characterization Optics (ECO) instruments provide multiple simultaneous scattering and fluorescence measurements for biogeochemical monitoring and dye trace studies. ECO instrument stability and the optional anti-biofouling technology enable long-term time series measurements.

 

Single Channel ECOs

Fluorescence
ECO FL: ECO FL fluorometers measure fluorescence from chlorophyll-a, CDOM, uranine, rhodamine, and phycoyanin and phycoerythrin.
Backscattering
ECO BB: measures optical scattering in the backwards direction. This measurement correlates with particle mass concentration and particle cross-sectional area. Multiple backscattering wavelengths deliver particle composition and size distribution.
Turbidity
ECO NTU:Unparalleled sensitivity of the ECO in an optical scattering measurement at 700 nm for determining turbidity. Data that is not affected by CDOM concentration.

 

Dual Channel ECOs

Fluorescence + Turbidity
ECO FLNTU: Combines the unparalleled sensitivity of the ECO fluorometer with an optical scattering measurement at 700 nm for simultaneous determination of turbidity.
Fluorescence + Backscattering
ECO FLBB: Combines the unparalleled sensitivity of the ECO fluorometer with an optical 700nm backscattering channel.

 

Three Channel ECOs

Backscattering + Fluorescence + Turbidity
ECO Triplet: The Triplet addresses the need for multiple simultaneous scattering and fluorescence sensors for autonomous and unattended measurement platforms.
Optional Bio-wiper Addition
ECO Triplet-w: Now available with active anti-biofouling. It features an evolutionary design that builds off the bio-wiper and faceplate available on the current ECO line.
Three Channel ECO PuckTM for AUV etc.
ECO PuckTM: The PuckTM is a miniature version of the popular Environmental Characterization Optics (ECO) series sensors built for OEM applications
