As the demand for aquatic food increases, aquaculture continues to be the fastest growing animal food-producing sector.

WET Labs has produced the WQM (water quality monitor) which has been used to determine economic feasibility of mussel, scallop, and oyster farming. The parameters measured can be used to look at food quality and quantity as well as other ecological studies.
